Andrea J. Simon, Ph.D., “Andi,” is a Corporate Anthropologist and Management Consultant, Speaker and award-winning author who specializes in working with organizations that need or want to change. Her company, Simon Associates Management Consultants (SAMC), was founded two decades ago to apply the theory, methods and tools of anthropology to help companies and organizations adapt to changing times.
On this episode of Small Time Leaders, corporate anthropologist Andi J. Simon shares how a single question from a mentor challenged and shaped her career. Listen in as Michael and Andi discuss why change is difficult to embrace in business, how to help team members and customers embrace change, and why you should be challenging yourself to think differently about the future.
Her book, “On the Brink: A Fresh Lens to Take Your Business to New Heights,” won an Axiom Best Book of 2017 award. It delves into the application of corporate anthropology into business problems. The seven case studies illustrate how anthropological methods can help companies see themselves in new ways—and then reignite their growth strategies. She is a widely regarded speaker on the topic, engaging audiences globally on how observation can lead to innovation.
She has been a contributor to Huffington Post, Fierce Health, and Forbes. Dr. Simon has been seen on Good Morning America, ABC New York, has been interviewed in the Washington Post, and published in Business Week, American Banker, Daily News, INC Magazine, John Wiley Global Business and Organizational Excellence, among others.
