52 The Power of Acknowledgement with Deb Boelkes
/

Deb Boelkes is an award-winning author, keynote speaker, symposium producer, and founder of Business World Rising, LLC. She developed her unique sense of leadership style rising through the ranks of a male-dominated business world starting at age twelve. During her 30-year career leading sales, global business operations and professional services organizations within Fortune 500 technology companies, including AT&T, IBM, and Arrow Electronics, Deb gained an undisputed reputation as a passionate, people-oriented leader who, together with her teams, could always be trusted to deliver WOW results.

In today’s episode of Small-Time Leaders, Deb Boelkes shares with us the power of acknowledgment.  Deb is a self-motivated leader and does not step back when challenges are thrown her way. Such tribute was pointed out to her by her CEO at the time and that acknowledgment pushed her to strive for even higher milestones. It is amazing how much encouragement we can give someone by highlighting their best skills.

She launched Business World Rising in 2009, originally as Business Women Rising, a leadership development firm dedicated to the advancement of high-potential business women to senior leadership roles.  Deb highlights her most important leadership lessons learned in her books, The WOW Factor Workplace: How to Create a Best Place to Work Culture, published in 2019, and Heartfelt Leadership: How to Capture the Top Spot and Keep on Soaring, published in 2020. Deb is currently working on her next book, to be published in early 2021, Women on Top: What’s Keeping You from Executive Leadership? Each of Deb’s books are chock full of interviews with authentically down to earth heartfelt executives who have been there, done that.
